Eau-de-Beauté-Caudelìe

Like any other beauty cult, also the Eau de Beauté of Caudalie has got its own story to tell. This “beauty water” is on sale since 1996 and it is globally used and loved by the most famous make-up artists. However, in a more remote past, it has been was the beauty water of a Queen, Isabel of Hungary.

The history

This beauty elixir of beauty was discovered almost by accident by chance by the famous dermatologist Bernard Herzog. It found it by pure luck, in the pages of a book bought in one of the stalls of cheap antiques dealer on the riverside drive of the Seine, in Paris.
This The book told that the queen used to use this fabulous elixir to add brightness to the skin of her face. It is said that, also because of this brightness, she was able to conquer the heart of the King of Poland, who was 35 years her junior.
Indeed, the legend of the miracle water of the queen of Hungary, a rosemary-based essence, is quoted in many books. Anyways, Dr. Herzog spoke about his discovery to Mathilde Thomas, an entrepreneur that a few years earlier had founded the cosmetic company Caudalie. The elixir formula was re-elaborated and the Eau de Beauté of Caudalié was thus born.
Very soon, Thanks to word-of-mouth, the product conquered very quickly a larger and more modern market share than the court of Queen Isabel. As of today, this beauty water is a blockbuster, best-seller, with over 2 million pieces sold since its creation. Let us now give a look at its characteristics.

The product

Eau de Beauté comes in an elegant glass bottle, available in two sizes: 30ml or 100ml. It is used as a spray and it has a very peculiar scent. As soon as it is sprayed, one can immediately smell mint, citrus and rosemary. All the ingredients of this elixir are organic and it doesn’t contain any parabens free. It contains several types of oil and botanic constituents, that make it a skin treatment under any point of view and it is easy to spot the oily matter that contains all its active principles.
Among its ingredients, grapes extract provides brightness, orange and rose blossoms have a soothing influence, while essential oils of mint and Melissa have an astringent effect.

Whom is it suitable for

The Eau de beauté of Caudalié is suitable for virtually any kind of skin. My personal advise would be to make a short test in case of extremely sensitive skin, since it contains alcohol.

How to use it

This beauty water can be utilized as a tonic or as a serum. I normally apply it after having cleaned the skin, as you would do with a tonic, in order to prepare the skin for the face cream.
However, it can also be used as a face skin refresher or as a fixer for the make-up. Indeed, once it is sprayed on the skin and you let it dry, it can extend the span of the make-up.

Its effects

Its refreshing influence is perceived immediately, using it for a longer period of time, can be beneficial in other ways. Skin pores shrink and skin has indeed a brighter look.
On my skin, a constant usage over time had also the effect of reducing its imperfections and it helps in keeping the “shiny skin effect” under control, as if it were somehow able to balance its natural production of sebum.
Within a few days, the skin appears to be more hydrated and bright; after a few weeks a light smoothing effect of the skin texture was noticeable.
As a conclusion: I have tested and used this product for quite some time now, and in different phases of my life. I have constantly appreciated its beneficial effects, and even if I replaced it from time to time with some other products, in the end it came back in my beauty locker.
In the end, it is not by chance if this product keeps receiving signs of appreciation from so many people. It is a product that I recommend to people of any age, but not with any type of skin. I believe that its constant utilization makes skin brighter and shrink its pores. It’s a wonderful product for regular or combination skin. Some caution to be taken into account for extremely sensitive skins, because of the alcohol contained in the elixir.
